How Does THCV Suppress Appetite?

How does THCV stop the munchies?

One thing THC is known for is inducing hunger, or “giving you the munchies.” This can be a very helpful side effect for people who need help feeling hungry, may it be for one reason or another. But there are other people in the world who may not need the extra help in that department, and still want to feel the fun effects of THC without constantly being hungry.

This is where THCV comes in handy.

Some studies suggest that THCV prevents THC from binding to receptors in our body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS). These receptors can turn on certain functions in our body’s nervous system as well as other functions in other areas, like your hunger metabolism.

If the THC molecules can’t bind to those receptors, you don’t feel the sensation.

But if it blocks those receptors, will THCV prevent THC from making you high?

Nope!

THCV works in magical (and somewhat still mysterious) ways to allow us to still feel and enjoy certain aspects of THC, like a euphoric sensation in both your body and mind.

If you still haven’t tried that wonderful combination, you absolutely should.
